Position Summary:
The position will work as part of the translational research team and report to the Manager of Bioanalytical Sciences at OncoC4. The successful candidate will perform mainly clinical sample handling and processing, following all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and supporting product development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform routine clinical blood sample receiving, assessing, storing, and processing in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulations. May also perform other routine critical reagent production, human primary cell isolations and cultivation, ELISA assays and other related cell-based assays. Duties also include recording and reporting results, performing preparation of samples and solutions, and maintenance of equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Process clinical specimens and other samples that require aliquoting, storing, freezing, transporting, processing, or preparing specimens for laboratory analysis
- Perform general sample management and laboratory-support functions such as supply inventory, shipping procedures, lab equipment (freezer) maintenance.
- Accurately log samples into the laboratory database
- Monitor and maintain proper storage of samples, including appropriate location, temperature, and condition of freezers
- Prepare sample shipping manifest and transfer samples to internal and/or external laboratories for analysis
- Collect, file and review study data, reagent and solution worksheets, action sheets, equipment maintenance records, SOPs, training records, deviations, etc.
- Document activities, records observations and complete all paperwork in accordance with GCLPs, SOPs, and protocols, established checklists, and tracking logs.
- Document and communicate study specimen discrepancies, updates, or compliance related issues to supervisor and study stakeholders.
- Ensure that work is conducted in a safe and compliant manner; maintain lab documentation and practice in accordance with established SOPs and GCLP regulation.
- Practices universal safety precautions and wears appropriate personal protective equipment as instructed
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences
- Experience with working in a biological laboratory
Other Required:
- Requires good attention to detail, organized, excellent documentation skills, and willingness to work well in a group environment
- Ability to interact and function in a highly productive work environment
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to follow SOPs and guidance documents
- Must be proficient using Microsoft office, specifically with Excel
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with clinical blood samples
- Knowledge of GCLP regulation
