Director of Translational Research
Dr. Weiss has over 20 years of experience in translational research from preclinical development into clinical trials. Ido’s experience covers various fields including immunology, immune-oncology, and nuclear medicine imaging with a focus on biomarker development. Ido received his Ph.D. degree in cellular immunology from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. Ido subsequently completed post-doctoral training at the NIH/NIAID focusing on T cells immunology. In parallel, Ido developed Positron Emission Tomography tracers for imaging the chemokine receptor CXCR4 as a biomarker for tumor behavior and translated one of the tracers into a clinical trial. Prior to joining OncoC4, Ido worked in several biotech companies in which he led biomarker development for multiple clinical trials of novel immune checkpoint therapeutics, developed DNA vaccines for oncology, and researched tumor-specific T cells and CAR-T cells from the bone marrow of cancer patients.
